Chatkharey is a nice place...but i haven't gone there for ages....till the last time i went there it's food used to taste like home food! Aaj kal kaisa hai??
on the same lane...there are two chatkharey ...one of them is new.....and i think its the one you have covered ..why didnt they come up with a new name...??
Hi Hira, you don't know the story behind names. The original Chatkharay is the one with the name "CHATKHARAY FOODS" and they have no mezzanine floor to sit.
Chatkharay Foods had a very old shop in Hyderabad Colony near Jail Road, Karachi. Some Defence kee aunty used to buy stuff from them years back and that's when she stole this idea to open a Chatkharay at Deltons. She continued to buy stuff for her shop from them.
The real owners of Chatkharay brand are very nice, polite and down-to-earth people and when they came to know about it, they didn't do anything. Infact, they actually opened their own outlet and the funny thing is that the aunty still buy some stuff from them for her own outlet.
Since she has her own clientele now who prefer to go to this branded sort of outlet, the business is flourishing..
